FALL RIVER, Mass.–A gun, an old Toyota Camry, and $15,000 were the focus of testimony in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial Monday.
Testimony revealed that Hernandez deposited $15,000 in a Bank Of America account in Florida on April 11, 2013 for Oscar Hernandez, who he isn’t related to. The two went to college in Gainesville, Florida–Oscar at Santa Fe and Aaron at the University Of Florida.
Prosecutors believe Oscar Hernandez illegally shipped guns to Aaron Hernandez.
That pistol was traced back to Gion Jackson in Belle Glade, Florida. Jackson testified that Oscar Hernandez was in the store when he bought the .22, and that he kept it in the trunk of his car.
Jackson said he didn’t even know the gun was missing until federal agents showed up at his house. “I hadn’t realized it was stolen because when they came to my house they was like your gun was found at this murder scene,” Jackson testified.
Another witness testified that Oscar Hernandez arranged for a 1999 Toyota Camry to be shipped up to Aaron Hernandez’s North Attleboro home in late April 2013. Detectives found the Toyota parked in the garage, and previous testimony suggested that it appeared like the car was never driven.
