Ambulance hits pedestrian in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD — Police are investigating a crash involving an ambulance and a pedestrian in West Hartford.

Police said the ambulance hit a person near the corner of South Street and Rose Street early Tuesday morning.

Officers got to the scene around 5:30 a.m.

Police said the male pedestrian,  a 59-year-old West Hartford resident who was dressed in black clothing, did not look before crossing and the EMT driving the ambulance did not see the man crossing the street.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital.
