Customs officials seize thousands in counterfeit bills at JFK airport

NEW YORK – Over $65,000 in fake U.S. currency was seized Saturday by Customs and Border Protection officers.

The seizure was made at John F. Kennedy’s International Mail Facility.

CBP officers found $65,200 in counterfeit $100 bills which were concealed in place mats and a shoe bag that were sent from Ecuador.

No arrests have been made and officials are still investigating.
