FALL RIVER, Mass. — The fiancee of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez testified Friday in his murder trial.

Shayanna Jenkins, 25, was granted immunity before testifying. If didn't testify she would be open to prosecution as well.

She and Hernandez have a 2-year-old daughter together and were high school sweethearts in Bristol.

Jenkins testified Hernandez was intoxicated in the hours before the killing of her sister's boyfriend. She also told jurors Friday that she found a handgun in a kitchen junk drawer before the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd. She said the gun was gone the next time she looked in the drawer.

Among those in the gallery was Jenkins' younger sister, Shaneah. She was sitting with Lloyd's family. Jenkins described her relationship with Shaneah as estranged.

Prosecutors say she lied to a grand jury investigating Lloyd's murder. Jenkins pleaded not guilty to perjury.

With the jurors absent from the courtroom, Jenkins confirmed parts of her grand jury testimony to prosecutors. "When Aaron got home from the police station, when I had found out that Odin was murdered, I asked him if he did it, he said no," Jenkins said.

Prosecutors have said Jenkins removed a box from the North Attleboro home she shared with Hernandez. Prosecutors believe the box contained the murder weapon.

Also on Friday a juror was dismissed for personal reasons. Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh did not elaborate on why the male juror was dismissed. He is the third juror to be dismissed from the trial. Fifteen jurors remain, and three of those will be alternates chosen randomly after closing arguments.

The trial is set to resume Monday morning.
