HARTFORD–A demolition crew was the scene in Hartford all day to knock down a building after a massive fire ripped through it earlier this week.
The vacant building on Main Street and Albany Avenue had a squatter living inside, and he lit a paper bag, which ended up causing the fire.
The squatter, Kenneth Onalty, had to be rescued by firefighters from the second floor, but there were no other injuries. Onalty was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and reckless burning for igniting the fire.
A judge ordered that he undergo a psych evaluation.
