WEST HARTFORD - Thousands of children took part in a time honored tradition, Sunday, an Easter egg hunt.

Hundreds of little ones scooping up colorful plastic eggs- they contain candy or toys, but before the fun got started, -- as volunteers were out here on the field throwing eggs in every direction, peppering the yard lines with treats.

Inside, youth ministers taught a lesson the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and about what this day means as part of the Christian tradition.

Second grader Thijs 'Tice' Doot came to Hartford from Norfolk, and his gathering strategy was sneaky, stay on the perimeter of the field. He said he picked up thirty or so eggs that way.
