Meriden Humane Society vandalized overnight
MERIDEN – An investigation is underway after the Meriden Humane Society was vandalized sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning. An employee for the Humane Society discovered the vandalism Thursday morning.
The site does have surveillance cameras but they didn’t capture what happened. Sullivan thinks it’s possible the suspects knew how the cameras worked and entered the property from a nearby road.
Sullivan says the vandalism happened sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday. The damage was done to the exterior shelter property where they keep some of the dogs.
Sullivan says the Humane Society insurance won’t cover the cost of the damage.
Thankfully, no animals were in the cages at the time, no injuries or stolen animals.
A police report has been filed with Meriden Police.
