NEW HAVEN – It started with a walk in West Rock State Park. Adelia Dunbar and Amber Baysinger have been there before. But this wasn’t like any other walk. On this walk, Amber was going to propose.

A YouTube video shows Adelia and Amber coming across a chair and table set up with a laptop. An emotional Adelia sits down and sees a prompt on the screen asking her to press play. Well she did, and got the surprise of her life.

“What I thought was a routine hike turned out to be the most beautifully planned surprise I’ve ever experienced! The love of my life proposed and I said yes! I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I have for everything you do for me and for the bond that we share,” Adelia wrote on Facebook.

Getting all of the people (and pets) to participate wasn’t easy. Amber started planning it about a month earlier.  Family and friends from New York to Texas sent in their video clips.

Amber tells Fox CT they’ve been together about two years. They live in Hamden with their two dogs, Winston, and Renny. Both rescue dogs played a role in the proposal video too!

Amber said she thought this was the perfect way to propose because all of their friends and family were involved but weren’t there in a giant crowd.
