Connecticut Nepalese community to raise money for Nepal earthquake victims

HARTFORD-  There are around 1,500 people living in Connecticut originally born in Nepal.

Many of the state residents with ties to the county are working to obtain information and to help those in Nepal, which was devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

Nepalese Association of Connecticut has 574 members and teamed up with the Society of Nepalese in America, the Branford based chapter with around 300 members born in Nepal living in Connecticut.

Both organizations have created the  "Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund Connecticut"

The relief fund will be activated Sunday, and the money raised would be re-distributed to help those impacted directly by the earthquake.
