Victims identified in fatal wrong way Branford crash

BRANFORD –The victims in a fatal wrong way crash in Branford Thursday morning have been identified.

State Police said Peter Hall, 69, of New Haven was killed in the crash. Police said that Hall was driving his Dodge Grand Caravan the wrong way on I-95 North when he struck a Dodge pickup driven by Hopeton Kerr, of Bridgeport.  Kerr’s passenger, Frank Poppa, was seriously injured. Poppa and Kerr were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened between exits 54 and 55 around 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

Traffic began moving again around 6:30 a.m.
