BOSTON —Testimony in the Boston Marathon bombing trial has been suspended for the day because one of the jurors is sick.

Judge George O’Toole Jr. announced late Thursday morning that the juror has a “temporary illness” and he expects the juror will be back by Monday.

Court is not in session Fridays.

Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is now on trial for his life. He was convicted this month of all 30 charges against him, including 17 that carry the possibility of the death penalty.

Testimony on Wednesday was largely focused on Dzhokhar as a child. His teachers testified that he was a hardworking boy with a bright future.

His third grade teacher testified that Tsarnaev was just learning English after moving to the U.S. from Russia in 2002. She says he cared about his school work and “always wanted to do the right thing.”

Other teachers say he got nearly all As in his classes and made friends easily.

The testimony came during the third day of the defense case in the penalty phase of Tsarnaev’s trial. He was convicted earlier this month in the 2013 bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260.
