OLD LYME – A motorcycle crash on Route 1 in Old Lyme Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of the driver, Wells Lippincott, 73, of Westbrook.
He was initially transported to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar, but succumbed to his injuries.
Police temporarily closed Route 1 near Whippoorwill Road as a result of the crash.
