WILLIMANTIC – Police have arrested two more people in connection with the sale and possession of synthetic marijuana.

Charles Ward, 32, and Ashley Easton, 24 of Willimantic were both charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, and drug paraphernalia. The arrests were made after a search at an apartment on Vermont Drive. They were held on $50,000 bond and scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Police said more arrests were expected.

Police arrested four people Tuesday after a nearly a dozen were sickened by a drug believed to be synthetic marijuana earlier this week. Police are still investigating whether the batch was laced with another drug such as LSD of PCP.

Police arrested Thomas Gasper Jr., 39, of Willimantic,  on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory, and operation of a drug factory.  Gaspar was arraigned Wednesday in Danielson court and held on a $50,000 bond. Police expect more charges to follow.

After witnessing the drug sales on Tuesday, police arrested Vanessa Torruella, 22, of Willimantic, Jessica Klein, 33, of Willimantic and Justin Blantz of Willimantic after seizing synthetic marijuana from their car, police said. All three face a charge of possession of narcotics and will appear in court on May 14.
