HARTFORD--It was announced several months ago that the winner of season 14 of "American Idol" would have the opportunity to have his or her debut single be the official anthem for FOX's coverage of the 2015 FIFA women's World Cup.

Well, on Wednesday night Connecticut's own Nick Fradiani won the crown, and his song "Beautiful Life" will officially represent this year's FIFA tournament.

The FIFA women's World Cup tournament begins on June 6, and FOX channels and apps will air 16 matches.
