Three injured, one seriously, in Bristol apartment fire

BRISTOL –  Three people were injured in an apartment fire Friday morning.

The fire happened at 87 Meadow St. and was confined to an apartment on the third floor.

Two people were rescued, one of them from a second floor window.

Fire officials said one resident suffered second and third degree burns and was taken to Bridgeport Burn Center via Lifestar. A neighboring resident treated at the scene and released. A firefighter was treated for minor smoke inhalation and a strained back muscle.

The fire is still under investigation. State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause.
