WETHERSFIELD – On Saturday just after 8 p.m. police responded to a report of a man hit by a car on the Silas Deane Highway just south of Mill Street, in the area of The Tilted Kilt.
First responders began treating Nicholas Maniudakis, 53, of Rocky Hill until he was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, Stephanie Kleinman, 48, of Rocky Hill, was not injured and is cooperating with the police.
Traffic on the Silas Deane Highway was diverted while the on-scene investigation took place.
Members of the Midstate Accident Reconstruction Team were on the scene and continue to investigate this accident.
