WELLFLEET, Mass.--Sharks, they're just like us!

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing flew over the waters near Cape Cod on Friday after a Marine Fisheries scientist requested the unit check out some sharks in the water.

The unit launched from the Plymouth Air Base, and sure enough, 200 yards off the shore of Wellfleet a 25-foot long shark was spotted basking in the sun, which is appropriate since it's called a "basking shark." Basking sharks are the second largest shark after whale sharks, and grow to 40 feet long, according to the Florida Museum of Natural History.

According to the State Police, these sharks are not meat eaters and aren't a danger to beachgoers or boaters.
