SOUTH WINDSOR – The high school mascot shares the name, but the bobcat in the pictures taken by one resident is the four legged kind.
While many parts of town are densely populated, there are large areas throughout town that are undeveloped. Bobcats are designated as a protected furbearer and there’s no hunting or trapping season according to the DEEP.
Bobcats are most active after dusk and before dawn, and are not considered a threat to humans and rarely carry rabies. They weigh between 15 and 35 pounds and grow to about three feet long.
