EAST HARTFORD – An annual ride to remember slain Officer Brian Aselton and raise scholarship funds will kick off Sunday morning.

The 17th annual Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Motorcycle Run will be on Sunday, May 31 starting at Gengras Harley-Davidson, 221 Governor St., East Hartford, at 10 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. The route will go from East Hartford, through South Windsor, East Windsor and end at end at the Knights of Columbus in East Hartford. The cost is $20 per motorcycle and $5 per passenger.

Aselton was killed in January 1999 when he responded to a call about a noise complaint.

All proceeds will benefit the Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Scholarship Fund.
