BERLIN — Over the past two days there has been an impressive amount of badly-needed rainfall.

But while most of the state only saw an inch or saw, Southington and Berlin saw much more.

Five inches of rain led Berlin High School to close for the day on Monday, June 1 as the rain poured down on the roof, leading to leaks throughout the building. The school flooded, and buses took students home shortly after the school day started around 9 a.m.

Students posted about the flooding issues on social media.

The school says the flooding was caused by a leaky roof in an unrenovated part of the school. Students will likely be back in class on Tuesday.
