Former site of Fairfield Lumber damaged by fire

FAIRFIELD–  At 7:05pm Tuesday smoke could be seen rising from the southernmost warehouse on the site of the former Fairfield Lumber.

Fire quickly spread from the rear of the building into the center warehouse. The fire extended to the northernmost attached warehouse where crews were able to contain and extinguish it. The fire was declared under control at 9:55pm. Fire crews continued to fight spot fires into the night. There have no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
