OLD SAYBROOK – A power outage that left over a thousand homes in the dark was caused by osprey, according to police.
The outage occurred overnight and affected 1,100 homes. Power was restored around 6 a.m.
Eversource told police that the outage was caused by osprey. “They will be making repairs and then performing work to safely deter the Osprey from continuing to do things that disrupt the transmission lines,” said police on their Facebook page.
