NEW BRITAIN — A New Britain man is facing manslaughter charges after another man fell to his death Saturday morning. June 6, around 6 a.m., police were called to Beatty Street for a man in need of medical attention.

The man was found in the driveway behind an apartment with a serious head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police learned that a disturbance had occurred at the apartment just prior to the victim falling to his death. Harvey Carr, 23, of New Britain was identified as a possible suspect who had  been involved in the disturbance.

Investigators caught up with Carr a few hours later, around 10 a.m. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the 1st degree. Police say the victim fell from the window as a result of a physical altercation involving Carr.

Carr is currently being held at New Britain Headquarters on $1 million dollar bond.  He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police say they are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to call Detective Nathan Soucy at 860-826-3137.
