HAMDEN–Police have made an arrest after a suspect threatened a cab driver with a gun.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a taxi driver reported that he had drove a man, later identified as Robert Boardman, 54, of Hamden, to Notkins Street in Hamden.
When they arrived and Boardman exited the cab, without paying the $40 fair, he pulled a rifle out of a bag he had with him and pointed it at the driver. He threatened to “put a slug in him,” and then ran through several backyards.
Police arrived, and with the help of K-9 Hank they were able to track down Boardman and the rifle in a nearby backyard.
Boardman was charged with threatening in the second degree, breach of peace in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree and criminal mischief in the first degree.
