HARTFORD -- You've seen the construction. Now, the stadium has a name.
"Dunkin Donuts Park!" That's where the Hartford Yard Goats will play. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon during a 12:30 p.m. press conference.
Dunkin' Donuts obviously has a large presence in Connecticut and across New England.
Mayor Segarra was joined by the Yard Goats owner, Josh Solomon alongside Council President, Shawn Wooden and many others.
The stadium is under construction and is expected to open by April of 2016.
So, now even the Yard Goats run on Dunkin'.
The Yard Goats stadium has brought its fair share of controversy. The stadium is expected to cost $56 million. But, organizers hope more business support will keep taxpayers from picking up the tab of the project.
Councilmen Wooden says more partners are expected to sign on in the coming weeks.
The Hartford Yard Goats will play 71 home games at Dunkin Donuts Park starting in April 2016.
