NEW YORK — Prepare yourself, ’90’s nostalgia lovers, as the possibility of Crystal Pepsi may be making a comeback.  Introduced in 1992, the caffeine free, clear soda was initially met with positive reviews, however it unfortunately met its demise (as so many ’90’s snacks and beverages have) and disappeared from store shelves.

Grub Street reported that competitive food eater, Kevin Strahle (AKA L.A. Beast) asked Pepsi if they were ever going to bring back the soda, and they sent him a message with the sly response of “we think you’ll be happy with what’s in store.”

However, devoted fans have been lobbying for its return through social media using the hashtag #BringBackCrystalPEPSI and a petition has been started, already with over 34,000 signatures. The petition is campaigning for those that are younger, who never got a chance to taste the “retro” and “unique” drink.

Crystal Pepsi may have been gone for over two decades, but it is certainly not forgotten.
