WILLINGTON – State police arrested a man in connection with a marijuana growing operation in a home where he, his girlfriend, and her children lived.

State police arrested Brendon Laplante, 30 of Willington, on Possession of Marijuana with intent to sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,  Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Drug Factory; and 2 counts of Risk of Injury. Laplante was held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville court on Thursday.

Police said they learned of the marijuana growing operation at 50 Cosgrove Road in Willington and obtained consent to search the home. They recovered 25 mason jars with marijuana plants, several unsecured firearms, two assault rifles, several handguns, and more than 1,000 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition.

Police said the suspect, his girlfriend, and her children lived in the home.

Laplante was found in a car near the home. Police said they found marijuana in the vehicle.

Police said that Laplante is suspected of assaulting his girlfriend and charges are pending.
