HARTFORD – Two more of Connecticut’s top elected officials said  Saturday they would support Hillary Clinton’s candidacy for president.

Fifth District U.S. Representative Elisabeth Esty tweeted her support Saturday morning. First District Representative John Larson sent out a press release later in the morning.

The support came as Democrats has gathered to hear Hillary Rodham Clinton’s first major speech as she seeks her party’s the presidential nomination on Roosevelt Island in New York City.

Larson said in a statement, “No other candidate has served as Secretary of State, United States Senator, and First Lady. She is clearly worthy of the nation’s support and mine—and she got it the old-fashioned way. She earned it.”

Governor Dan Malloy announced his support earlier in the week.
