CANTON--Around 100 young athletes turned out on Sunday to compete in an NFL-sponsored event.

The Punt, Pass and Kick Program offered a chance for kids from various age groups to compete and see who is the best at each of the three football skills.

The program was free for anyone to participate in, and the winners now move on to later rounds, which are also sponsored by the NFL.

Locally, the program was sponsored by the Warriors Youth Football and Cheer Program, which serves Canton, Avon, Burlington and Harwinton. This is one of three scheduled national skills events in the state.
