CROMWELL — Travelers says the just concluded Travelers Championship golf tournament in Cromwell generated more than $1.5 million for charity.

The tournament provides 100 percent of its net proceeds to non-profit organizations throughout New England. The cornerstone charity is the The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a residential summer camp for children with cancer and other serious illnesses.

But, more than 140 charities will see some type of windfall from the tournament.
