MERIDEN–Police are investigating after a teen was struck by a car while riding his bike.

Around 1:43 p.m. Meriden Police responded the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Springdale Avenue on reports of a crash involving a bike and a car.

Officers found a 14-year-old boy lying in the middle of the road with his bike next to him. He had a head injury and an injury to his right arm. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that the driver was traveling south on Lewis Avenue in a 2010 Lexus when he hit the bicyclist with his driver’s side door. The bicyclist was biking west on Springdale Avenue, and the collision occurred at the intersection. The driver of the Lexus wasn’t hurt.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 230-630-6299 or 203-630-6256. So far, no arrests have been made.
