Kids compete in Bristol Soap Box Derby for chance to go to Ohio

BRISTOL--Kids have found ways of speeding down hills ever since the invention of the wheel.

And though soap box derbies may not be that old, this gravity-driven sport has its roots in the Midwest from the 1930s.

However. the sport has now spread across the world, and converges in Akron, Ohio every summer for the world championships.

Earlier this month, the Bristol Soap Box Derby held its area-qualifying race to decide who would get the chance to represent Connecticut.
