DANBURY – State police seized $250,000 of illegal fireworks, in addition to cash and drugs, at a home Wednesday evening.
The investigation started with a complaint Monday from the Danbury Fire Marshal about illegal fireworks and explosives.
Police searched the home and a storage barn in Danbury, and found thousands of illegal fireworks, explosives and IEDs including large MClass devices similar to M-80s.
Four trailer loads of fireworks were transported from the scene by the state police bomb squad.
Police estimate the street value of the illegal fireworks and explosives is nearly $250,000. Additionally, $3,600 in narcotics and cash was also seized.
Police expect to make several arrests.
