Hartford police seize a ‘mother lode’ of fireworks

Hartford police seized illegal fireworks Saturday morning.

HARTFORD  – Hartford police say they have made an arrest after seizing about $5,000 worth of illegal fireworks on Friday night.

Deputy Chief Brian Foley said officers found about 179 items in boxes in a fan at around 8 p.m. after getting a report that a man was openly selling fireworks on Garden Street.

The bomb squad disposed of the fireworks.

A suspect was arrested on Saturday.
