CLINTON -- Police are investigating a missing persons report involving Rebecca Arthur, 17. Her parents believe she flew to Casablanca, Morocco to meet up with a man she met on Facebook, Simo El Adala.

Police say she was dropped off at JFK Airport on Monday, July 6 by her parents. She told her parents she was going to visit a friend in California, and they dropped her off at the airport assuming that was where she was going. When they didn't hear from her, they called police.

It's been confirmed she arrived in Morocco on Tuesday, July 7. Clinton Police say they've gotten the FBI, Homeland Security and the American consulate in Morocco involved with the case.

Her parents were unaware of her plans or the details of the Facebook relationship, but according to Arthur's page, she and Adala have been dating since February.

"We don't even know if he's who he says he is and with the turmoil in the world now, our concerns are worst case scenario," said Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn of the Clinton Police Dept. "We are concerned for Rebecca’s well being and we want her home safely."

Arthur is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet tall, 150 pounds, with blue eyes, and blonde hair with red highlights. She was last seen wearing black yoga pants, black sleeveless shirt, and pink, blue, and white Nike brand sneakers. She had a red suit case.

The Clinton Police Department are asking anyone who has contact with Rebecca or Simo or knows any information about either of these persons and their plans to please call 860-669-0451.
