PLAINFIELD – Police arrest a Voluntown mom who brought her 3-year-old daughter to a drug deal.

Plainfield police acted an anonymous tip about a possible drug deal taking place at a Big Y Supermarket parking lot located on Lathrop Road, just after noon on Friday.

Sarah Chattell, 25, of Voluntown, was found to be in possession of a quantity of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

She also had her 3-year-old daughter with her at the time.

Chattell was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana greater than a half-ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor.

She is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Monday, July 27.

The Plainfield Police Department is urging all residents to report suspicious narcotic activity to any officer or to an anonymous tip line at 860-564-0765.
