HARTFORD — Rapper 50 Cent filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Hartford Federal Court Monday. Curtis James Jackson III, reported assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million.

He owns 50 Poplar Hill Drive in Farmington, according to the tax assessor’s office for the town of Farmington. The property had been up for sale for years but is currently off the market. According to Zillow, it has 21 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, and spans 48,515 square feet.

Just last week, a New York jury ordered Jackson to pay $5 million to a woman who sued over a sex tape.  He could possibly face further, punitive damages in Lastonia Leviston’s invasion-of-privacy lawsuit against the “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” rapper.

In addition to selling more than 22 million albums as an artist, 50 Cent is also CEO of the music label G-Unit Records and is behind several commercial products from a luxury sneaker line to EFFEN brand vodka.

The spokesperson, Travis Carter, added that 50’s business interests “will continue unaffected” during the bankruptcy proceedings.
