HARTFORD – A baby who was injured in a bathtub Tuesday has died.

On Tuesday, Hartford Police were dispatched to 53 Elmer Street on a 911 report of an injured baby.

Police found the parents had already left the address to deliver the baby to the hospital.

On the way to the hospital, the parents encountered paramedics so the baby was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center by ambulance.

The baby, Antonio Armando Delgado, Jr, the son of Antonio Armando Delgado, Sr, 33, and Tamara Lee Santana, 27, both of Hartford, was listed in critical condition due to lack of oxygen.

The baby was removed from life support Saturday at 11 a.m.

Initial details provided by the parents as well as the baby’s injuries are both consistent with the baby drowning in the bathtub.

An autopsy has been scheduled by the Chief Medical Examiner and the investigation is ongoing.
