VERNON — Former UConn tight end Sean McQuillan is again scheduled to go before a judge to answer an assault charge that ended his college football career.

McQuillan, who was expected to be a Husky captain next season, was arrested in April after an altercation with a roommate at his off-campus apartment.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound tight end graduated in May with a degree in economics, but was not allowed back as graduate student to complete his final year of football eligibility.

McQuillan started 11 games last season. He caught 16 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown.

He was scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court last week on the assault charge and a charge of disorderly conduct, but the case was moved to Monday morning.
