HARTFORD – Lawmakers toured parts of Hartford today to discuss the needs of the state’s transportation infrastructure.

Congressional leaders along with Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra spoke at union station in the city after touring with Pennsylvania Congressman Bill Shuster who is the chair of the transportation committee in Washington.

Connecticut leaders showed him the transportation challenges and the potential in roads, bridges, and rail system as they push for federal aid for projects.

The northeast corridor of the United States represents 18 % of the population.

Congressman Shuster saying it’s an important area to keep transportation moving.
