NEW BRITAIN--Video of a controversial gun-firing drone, made by a Connecticut college student, is causing concern to enthusiasts, as well as the general public.
As of Wednesday, the YouTube clip was approaching two-and-a-half million views.
It has also caught the attention of the federal government. Austin Haughwout's invention is now the focus of a probe by the FAA .
At Amato's Toy & Hobby in New Britain, drone sales have really taken off - three to four times more than last year.
With the viral video, store owner Steve Amato is worried government could jump the gun on new drone restrictions.
"My bigger concern would be will they over-regulate. That is of concern, yes," he said.
Even though the gun-firing drone video may be disturbing, Clinton police said it doesn't appear Haughwout broke any laws.
