3 men charged with using counterfeit money on spree around West Hartford Center: Police

WEST HARTFORD — Three men are facing several charges after police say they victimized six West Hartford businesses by using counterfeit money.  Police say they were called to La Petite France Bakery around 2 p.m. Sunday after someone used a fake $100 bill.

Less than 20 minutes later, Ben and Jerry’s and Brueggar’s Bagel Bakery made similar reports. All three stores gave similar descriptions of the suspect, according to police.

One store employee took a picture of the car the suspect got into after leaving the scene. Officers quickly located the car, which had four people in it, and stopped it.
