Teen seriously injured in Willimantic crash

WILLIMANTIC – According to police, a 19-year-old motorcycle driver in Willimantic hit a car on Main Street just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Police said that the motorcycle driver was unconscious upon their arrival and was treated on scene.

He was taken to Windham Hospital but immediately flown by LifeStar to Hartford Hospital, due to his severe injuries including a skull fracture, and neck and spine injuries.

The driver of the car, his wife and two small children were not injured but shaken up.

Witnesses told police that the bike was passing and weaving in and out of cars prior to the accident.

The road was closed for a time due to the accident but have reopened.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
