Waterford little leaguers win state championship

NEWINGTON--A bunch of little ones just got a big boost.

The little league team in Waterford swept its competition across the state, winning the state championship on Monday night. The team played Southington South.

The game even featured a grand slam!

Waterford will now represent Connecticut in the New England Regional, which will be held in Bristol. The team will play the state winner from Rhode Island at 8 p.m. on August 10.
