Victim in Coventry fatal crash identified

COVENTRY — Police identified the victim in a fatal crash that happened Friday afternoon.

Police said Brandon Loura, 31, of Glastonbury, was killed when his car and a dump truck that was traveling in the opposite direction collided.

LifeStar was called to the scene of the accident near South Road to transport Loura, and he was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital a short time later. The driver of the dump truck, Allen Gaudet, 59 of Broad Brook,  was taken to the hospital as well but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The accident happened just after 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.
