HARTFORD – The Yard Goats have signed The Hartford as a founding sponsor in a multi-year deal.

The financial services firm will join The Travelers as a major sponsor for the minor league baseball team’s first seasons, accord to the team. Dunkin’ Donuts acquired naming rights for the stadium earlier in the year.

The team made the announcement Friday morning. The multi-year partnership will involve signage at the park and sponsor the Yard Goats starting line-up, according to the team.

The stadium is expected to open in April 2016 and the team will play 71 home games.

“The Hartford is one of the leading financial institutions in the state with a strong local history,” said Josh Solomon, owner of the Yard Goats.  “We’re proud to call The Hartford a partner, and pleased to have their support.”
