ANSONIA – Residents in the Hilltop area of Ansonia are on high alert after two burglaries and another attempted burglary. Police believe all three are connected.

Ansonia Police say the three incidents happened between the hours of 3-5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The burglar gained access through first-floor windows, according to officers.

Police say one of the burglaries happened on Pin Oak Lane. The other two incidents happened on Reservoir Drive.

In one case, the burglar was able to gain access to a home, but was scared away when the homeowner saw him. The second case was the attempted burglary, where police say the home’s interior windows were locked, keeping the burglar out.

Police say it appears nothing was taken, but Hilltop residents are still taking extra precautions in their own homes and looking out for their neighbors’ homes.

“We’re going to have to watch each other’s backs now, because it’s a quiet neighborhood. Nothing like this has happened in the 10 years I’ve been living here,” said Ansonia resident Tim Pedevillano. “It kind of shakes you up a little bit that someone would actually walk into someone’s house at that early in the morning.”

Police have very little information about the male suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Ansonia Police at 203-735-1885.
