HARTFORD--Hartford is finally getting another professional sports team.

"I think it's time for a professional team to be here in Connecticut," said Paul Wright, the head coach for the new Hartford City Football Club.

The city is renovating Dillon Stadium with plans to bring to town a team in the North American Soccer League. But for now, an indoor soccer team is being formed and will play in the XL Center.

The Hartford City FC will start playing in the Major Arena Soccer League this November, and the plan is to get a team in the NASL by 2017.

The MASL is a 23-team league that plays a 20-game schedule.

"Our plans are to have 10 home games here, obviously in the playoffs we'll have two additional ones, so 12 games," said Mitch Anderson, the president and general manager of the Hartford City FC.

Tryouts will be held at the Farmington Sports Arena, with the first one scheduled for August 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, click here.
