HARTFORD — Friends and family gathered in Keney Park Tuesday morning to search for 23-year-old Tashauna Jackson, who disappeared last week.

However, family members identified a body found on Granby Street in Bloomfield as their loved one. Positive identification still needs to be made by the office of the chief medical examiner.

Breaking update: A women’s body was found in Bloomfield Tuesday at the same time the search was going on. You can read more on that here.

Searchers held a prayer service before setting out. On August 11, Jackson was seen getting into a man’s car, of her own free will, around 11 p.m. The next day her family reported her missing.

“It’s too much to even lay down and sleep just not knowing where Tashauna is and if she’s okay,” said Jackson’s cousin Azenia Williams at a vigil on Monday night.

Police have since located the man with whom Jackson was last seen, as well as his car. The car was seized and police say they’ve interviewed the man several times.

On Monday night, Jackson’s family, friends and neighbors in the North End joined together for a vigil.
