VERNON –Police have revealed more details on a suspicious incident that occurred in the middle of the night.

Around 3:10 a.m. on Thursday Vernon Police received reports of a car accident near the intersection of Union and Orchard streets.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 31-year-old Manchester resident who had been hit by a car. He was taken to Rockville General Hospital, and then transferred to Hartford Hospital due to the extent of his injuries. He is in stable condition and his injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.

The investigation revealed that the victim was running from a fight that happened on West Main Street. It began in an apartment, and then moved out onto the street. Several people were involved.

During the altercation, another car involved in the incident had its tires slashed.

No arrests have been made yet.
